Thematic investing has caught fire. In early 2021, assets invested in thematic exchange-traded products (ETPs) and exchanged-traded funds (ETFs) reached a record $394 billion and in that same month, more than 50 new thematic ETFs/ETPs were launched globally.

FactSet, in partnership with Forbes Insights, surveyed 103 global investment executives to examine these trends and better understand how investment managers and related providers can harness thematic investments to capture the attention of both existing and prospective investors. Our findings provide a foundation for asset managers looking to understand how the market is shifting and how they can better serve their clients.
