ACADEMIC SUPPORT FAQS

On this page you will find the answers to many frequently asked questions related to getting logged into FactSet and using the academic workstation.

The following topics are addressed below:

Login Issues

If you are having logging into your workstation, be sure you are following the steps below:

  • Open your web browser, you may use IE, Chrome, or Firefox, and navigate to https://connect.open.factset.com.
  • Is this your first time logging in? If so, you will need to click the 'Register' button. You will be prompted to enter your login credentials and receive a one-time passcode via email.
    • Not receiving the one-time passcode? Depending on the setup of your school's email system, this email may have gone to your SPAM folder and there can be upwards of an hour delay in receiving this email.
    • Be sure you have clicked through the register process only once, each passcode email deactivates the previous and it can be difficult to determine which one you should use. In this case, we suggest waiting an hour before attempting to register again.
  • Confirm you are using the correct login credentials, your username is your factset.net ID and it should have been emailed to you. If do not have this email, or have forgotten your factset.net ID, click the 'Forgot Username' link on the https://connect.open.factset.com page.
  • If you have your factset.net ID, but do not remember your password, click the 'Forgot Password' link to reset it. An email will be sent to your school email address with further instructions.
